Answered Prayers (Funny how that works!)

I have to say since I started praying in late September for God’s leading in my life I have gotten much more than I could have asked for.  I’m learning that what Paul writes in Ephesians 3:20 that God is able to give immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine is a reality for His people and all He asks for is our hearts.

Tonight I was given the opportunity to share my vision for what God has for my life with the mission board at my home church.  I was so encouraged by their genuine interest in my heart and in the mission of Justice Water.  They blessed me incredibly with their encouraging words and their promises of prayer and financial support.

I have been reading and thinking a lot about the body of Christ lately and I feel like I’ve had frequent opportunities to learn exactly what it looks like first hand.  None of us can do what we are called to do without the support of others doing what they are called to.  We can’t eat without farmers.  We can’t drive to work without engineers and people who work at gas stations.  And we can’t go into missions without the prayers of intercessors and the financial support of those able to give.  I feel like this is something I have known for a long time but there’s nothing like experience to take knowledge from your head to your heart.  I have been so blessed and really humbled by the people God has put in my life that want to partner with me in His work.

God is good and is so stinking faithful.  I was just talking to a friend recently who had God answer her prayers and give her clear direction about a decision in her life.  I think a lot of times the most challenging part of that is to respond faithfully when He shows up by doing what He has called us to do.  But I’m realizing that when we do He has great things in store for us!

Matthew 7:11
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
